This Jyothirling is situated at the banks of River Narmada where Raja Mandatha and Vindhyachal did severe penance to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva then appeared as Omkareshwar and Mamleshwar for king Mandhata. The temple is situated on an island whose shape resembles that of symbol "Om." This sacred place guides us to connect with the Lord and to pass through the thick and thins of life.
